Located in Amsterdam in a magnificent building with Gothic and Renaissance elements that was specially built for the collections, the Rijksmuseum looks back on more than 200 years of history. Dedicated to the arts, crafts, and history of the Netherlands from the Middle Ages to the present day, the museum has a large collection of paintings from the Dutch Golden Age, including many works by artists such as Jan Vermeer and Rembrandt. Drawings, prints, photographs, glassware, silver, Delftware, furniture, and much more can be discovered in this institution.

The Rijksmuseum has few but very meaningful exhibits by Lobmeyr in its collection, mainly from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, including a magnificent jardiniere by Josef Hoffmann. The items came to the museum long after they were created, through donations and purchases. They are presented as if in an art chamber—the museum website provides information about the rooms in which the various items can be seen.
