Galleries and exhibition spaces, lush gardens and a historic home, performances and concerts, a nature preserve and a sculpture park—the Newfields Indianapolis Museum of Art offers all this and more on 152 acres. It is one of the ten largest and the ten oldest general art museums in the US. In addition to the art museum, it is home to the Lilly House, 40 acres of historical and new gardens, the Virginia B. Fairbanks Art & Nature Park, one of the largest art and nature parks in the nation and the Miller House, one of the finest examples of mid-century American architecture.
Newfields has, among others, a fine collection of early-twentieth-century Lobmeyr glassware including key designs by Josef Hoffmann, Adolf Loos, Eduard Wimmer-Wisgrill, Ena Rottenberg, Rudolf von Larisch, and, more recently, by Viennese designers Polka.
