The distinctive presence of our portable Ground Control luminaires by BCXSY subtly elevate any space and deliver reliable illumination anytime. Embodying the very essence of our exquisite craft, these dimmable masterpieces also serve as standalone decorative objects, casting a magical radiance – whether switched on or off!
Inspired by our iconic 1966 Met chandelier from the peak of the sci-fi and space-age area, our stylish luminaires elegantly capture our rich LOBMEYR spirit and heritage.
They blend traditional artisanship with modern innovation, sophisticated style and practical functionality forming a harmonious bond between the past, present, and future.

Selected elements of our world-famous Met chandelier were skilfully crafted to create five outstanding designs that enchant any setting – inside or outside.
In a bold twist, meticulously hand-cut and faceted crystals are transformed into radiant diffusers, positioned directly atop the light source, casting a mesmerizing glow that transcends the limitations of traditional downlighting.
The crystals interact with both, surroundings and ambient light, creating a captivating yet comfortable presence.

Three diming modes
The housing is made of brass and precisely machined to let the battery slide in smoothly. To remove the battery press the lamp against your palm and turn it clockwise.
The Amsterdam-based design duo BCXSY drew their inspiration for their nifty portable light not only from our Met chandelier design but also from scientific advances in astronomy and cosmology. The name Ground Control is once again an homage to the combination of style, culture, engineering and technology.
Designed for versatility, our Ground Control effortlessly transforms from a travel-friendly into a stationary lighting. When attached to the wireless Horizon charger, it functions as a long-lasting table lamp, bedside light, or outdoor luminaire.
Our Ground Controls made a successful debut at Galleria Rossana Orlandi at the 2025 edition of Fuorisalone during Milan Design Week.
