In 1826, the Wiener Stadttempel, Vienna‘s main synagogue,
was built by architect Josef Georg Kornhäusel, supported by
the Rothschild family.
For the 200th anniversary in 2026, the sacred building will be restored and modernised by KENH Architekten.
Together with Lobmeyr and the Jewish Community of Vienna, a special Lobmeyr series was designed. 50% of the proceeds from the sale of which will be donated to the restoration project.
The numbered edition is based on a tumbler which was made for the Rothschild family in the 19th century and incorporates elements of the city temple.
Six-pointed stars adorn the tumbler in 18 columns and 7 rows as symbols for life and Shabbat.
The golden rim refers to the gently shimmering gold ornamentation of the temple.
