Ted Muehling

Ted Muehling (*1953 in New Jersey) is an American jewellery and object designer

He is primarily inspired by the organic forms of nature. He works in New York City. In 1975, Muehling graduated from the Pratt Institute in New York with a degree in industrial design. Since 1976, he has designed various objects from a range of materials including precious and semi-precious stones, metals, pearls, plastic, horn, and wood, mostly using artisanal techniques and steering away from industrial production. In 1990, he opened his first shop in Soho, where he produces limited editions and one-of-a-kind originals. Muehling has won numerous awards (American Fashion Critics’ Awards, finalist for the National Design Award, Chrysler Design Award, and more) and works with a number of renowned manufacturers, including the Nymphenburg Porcelain Manufactory, E.R. Butler & Co., Steuben Glass, J.& L. Lobmeyr, and the Wiener Silber Manufactur.
