    It runs in the family

Dessí started his creative career as a graphic designer for LOBMEYR, taking in the essence of LOBMEYR design intensely. The starting point for the project was then a traditional baroque chandelier from around 1720, one of the oldest types from our line with glass arms.

Dessi had an emotional approach with this item in the relation between the emotional and cool technical aspects of a lighting fixture as well as between manufacturing emotion and the technical aspects of production.

Another feature of the design was aiming at a certain versatility of the general idea. Stemming from traditional Arabian pendants and baroque lanterns the body of the individual items gives space for arranging clusters of lamps in an architectural setting as well as bespoke colour schemes of the body.

The Chandelier comes in two sizes and the suspension’s length can be specified upon ordering to suit the perspective room. The floor lamp takes the glass elements of the smaller size and can be ordered in bespoke heights.

Most strikingly, the connecting ropes come in a variety of colours. Clients can chose between nearly 200 different colours.

To celebrate the emergence of this design the designer also ventured into an even more emotional field by issuing the limited edition of this design 42482-LT-20. This features a very precious massively silver plated version with smoke-grey glass hexagons. The silver is more massive than regular silver plating this leaving it to darken with time stressing the close relation between the item and the user maturing together.
