Myung-il Saba-Song is a South Korean fashion and art collector and dealer.
In 2014, Myung-il Saba-Song designed a champagne flute for Lobmeyr, which she herself describes best: “I wanted to design an exquisite champagne vessel that feels like a jewel in your hand. I love how this glass sits on the table confidently and yet with femininity and how the colours of the champagne are refracted within—almost like a crystal chandelier. ”The thin muslin “Song” champagne flute balances on a crystal base hand-cut in the Lobmeyr workshops.
For more than 20 years, she has operated the exclusive fashion conceptual store Song in Vienna, which also hosts a rotating series of small art and furniture exhibitions. Saba-Song’s fashion is considered the most radical in Vienna. For instance, it was she who finally brought Belgian fashion design, influential since the 1990s, to Vienna. In addition to her shop in Vienna, she has also established a fashion archive, which in 2020 was part of a 350-page volume titled I’ll Wear It Until I’m Dead. The collection includes unique pieces from designers such as Dirk Van Saene, Martin Margiela, Walter Van Bairendonck, Dries Van Noten, Kei Ninomiya, Paul Harnden Shoemakers, and Balenciaga.
