    The Orchid series

Inspired by the elegance of nature, the Orchid Light captures the beauty of floral forms in a soft, sculptural design. Its shape is reminiscent of gently opening petals, with a smoothly curved underside that reflects natural, flowing lines.

The interplay of light, shadow, and form creates a dynamic yet calming effect, making the piece feel both light and expressive without being overwhelming.

Influenced by Neo Art Nouveau, the design draws on organic, biomorphic shapes to transform a functional light into a distinctive piece of design.

Crafted from high-quality brass sheets, the Orchid Light emits a warm, ambient glow that enhances its organic form. The soft diffusion of light creates a welcoming atmosphere, allowing it to blend effortlessly into different spaces while still standing out.

Whether placed above a dining table, in an entryway, or in a living area, the Orchid Light draws attention both when lit and unlit. This balance reflects Bodo Sperlein’s approach to design, creating pieces that quietly elevate their surroundings with a sense of refined simplicity.

Originally conceived as a chandelier, the Orchid design naturally extends into a whole family of lighting pieces. It translates effortlessly into an elegant floor lamp and can be scaled down into a small table lamp without losing its character.

As a modular concept, the design can be broken down into individual elements, creating a wide range of wall light options. Whether used as a single piece, in pairs, or arranged across a wall like petals in motion, it offers great flexibility. The elements can be positioned in any orientation, giving interior designers the freedom to create unique compositions.

Despite its simple, minimal appearance, the design demands exceptional craftsmanship from LOBMEYR’s artisans. Shaping each piece by hand from a sheet of brass requires both strength and precision.

Forming a petal without templates or tools means carefully controlling the force to achieve a curve that is not only exact, but also natural and fluid—free from any dents or sharp edges. This level of control represents the highest level of the craft, where strength and sensitivity come together in perfect balance, in every single piece.
