A brave, new fashion exhibition. Rather than exhibiting
clothes and styles, Dysfashional explores the broad
range of materials and mechanisms that turn
fashion into a way of representing personal identity
and experience. A dramatic journey into the creative
process as center stage.
CHAMAELEON (produced by Lobmeyr)
History: Berlin based designer Kostas Murkudis was
born 1959 in Dresden and succesfully studied fashion
at the prestigious Lette Verein in Berlin. He got his
start working for Wolfgang Joop and Helmut Lang and
began developing his own line soon thereafter. Today,
his women and men‘s line is prominently featured in
selected stores around the globe.
Lightness / transperancy: to be almost invisible was
the startingpoint of that experience and development.
Therefor the art of reflections on the object is another
very important moment of its unique surface.
Fragility / Strength: Architecture and sculptur through
organic shapes is the designers beloved obsession
next to fashion . The designed object is after all also a
reflection of his identity, research and style.
The company was founded 200 years ago and is a very
prestigious glass-and crystal-manufactury based in
Vienna. Since the beginning they‘ve worked with iconic
artists such as Adolf Loos, Josef Hoffmann or modern,
and contempory designers such as Ted Muehling in
developing selected projects. Lobmeyr commited to
work for this project on a pro bono basis.
